    The Advertising Specialist will coordinate the efforts of advertising print projects as they are processed through production, photography, proofreading, creative and prepress departments. Responsibilities include designing new ads and to perform modifications as needed, electronically rework, assemble, create and at times build various print projects in accordance with client specifications. Must be creative and have the ability to multi-task on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to details. This includes, but is not limited to, design, proofreading, data entry and type-setting, image manipulation, art creation or modification.

    Responsibilities

    Job Expectations

    The Advertising Specialist is expected to

    • Communicate and coordinate directly with the Client, account teams and/or vendors to understand all details of projects or requests.
    • Proofread and design print materials using established check-off procedures.
    • Utilize current process and sources provided to create or revise ad proofs as required–checking for missing or incorrect elements, re-arranging and updating ad elements to meet standards as needed.
    • Help coordinate daily check-in with Advertising Production Coordinator and Manager/Director regarding schedule and project completion before leaving for the day.
    • Provide feedback to Manager/Director regarding on-going or repeating issues, discrepancies in ad plans and understand the printing process to ensure that projects are built correctly for printing.
    • Coaches Production Artists on their opportunities in learning efficiencies and new processes to strengthen skillsets across the team.
    • Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by Manager/Director.

    Qualifications

    Job Requirements

    Education and Experience

    • 4-year college education or equivalent in graphic design or marketing.
    • 2 or more years of experience as a Mac Operator and Graphic Artist.
    • Knowledge of printing, prepress and digital processes.
    • Good spelling, grammar and typing skills.
    • General advertising, marketing and media terminology and processes.
    • Ability to speak, read and write in the English language.
    • Special Skills–Ad Layout, proofreading and design skills.

     

    System Skills Required

    • Macintosh based hardware and software systems that include but are not limited to:
      Adobe Creative Cloud – InDesign CC, Photoshop CC and Illustrator CC, Microsoft Office and Acrobat.
    • Network, Internet, Email communication systems.
    • Laser printing devices. 
    • Ability to learn proprietary software.

     

    Travel

    • Travel as required
    • Temporary assignments (out-of-town)
