Job Overview

The Senior Copywriter is expected to possess an aptitude and ability to create original content based on copy and design needs of our clients.  The Sr. Copywriter must also have an awareness of the Company’s copy/design capabilities, an understanding of industry standards and practices related to Copywriting, and the ability to work with clients (internal and external) to coordinate project flow and deadlines. Additionally, the Copywriter must have the experience/ability to read, understand, and work with client data to fulfill his/her role.

Ivie & Associates, Inc. expects all employees, including the Sr. Copywriter, to fully support Ivie’s position/relationship with its Clients.

Responsibilities

The Sr. Copywriter will:

  • Develop original copy content for client campaigns (with Sr. Designers, Art Directors/Creative Directors) including, strategic set-up/rationale, copy for Radio, TV, POP, Digital/Social tactics. Attend client meetings and present materials and ideas
  • Use his/her creative talents to invent and craft imaginative words and stories that bring client initiatives to life. This includes editorial writing for magazine (traditional and digital)
  • Electronically build creative copy for the assembly of various print projects in accordance with agency and client specifications.
  • Propose theme and creative copy elements for potential and new projects
  • Prepare client proofs for approval
  • Make corrections and modifications to client proofs as requested
  • Assist in project and/or client customer service needs
  • Assist in finding efficiencies for the department
  • Work with outside sources for content as well as manage those relationships and accompanying paperwork
  • Perform other responsibilities, as they are developed/defined

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • 4-year college education or equivalent in English/Journalism/Copywriting
  • 5+ year experience as a Copywriter, or equivalent experience as Copy Editor and Proofreader.
  • Ability to speak, read and write in the English language
  • Desire to continue education through trade shows, seminars, special courses, etc.
  • Provide writing portfolio with a variety of original samples as requested
  • Demonstrates the ability to perform well and remain organized under tight deadlines
  • General advertising, marketing, media, TV and radio terminology and processes
  • Knowledge of the web, internet, and online research tools
  • Knowledge of POS and store signage
  • Knowledge of technical solutions and troubleshooting techniques

 

System Skills Required 

  • MAC OS based hardware/software systems
  • Understanding of presentation materials (hard and soft i.e. Powerpoint/Keynote
  • Standard Graphic Design Software: CS, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, Font Management Systems, Microsoft Office, familiarity with Digital/Social Production (authoring solutions/HTML/Flash).

 

Travel

  • Travel as required by CSCM
  • Temporary assignments (out-of-town)
