Job Overview

Freelancers...this one is for you!!! This is a TEMPORARY, PART-TIME POSITION AT 10 HOURS PER WEEK.

The primary role of the Front-End Web Developer is to work closely with internal teams, client and vendors and help build, maintain and manage client websites “mostly WordPress”, leveraging modern design and development techniques.


Front-End Web Developer is not only expected to execute, but be part of strategy/creative teams that focus on finding best solutions that maximize results.


Ivie & Associates expects that the Front-End Web Developer will act at all times to assure the highest level of ethics, professionalism and personal performance possible.  He or she will work enthusiastically to meet or exceed all performance goals set by Ivie & Associates, and will contribute his or her utmost to assist Ivie & Associates in achieving its stated goals. Ivie & Associates, Inc. expects that all employees, including the Web Developer, to fully support Ivie’s position/relationship with its Clients.


The Web Developer is expected to:


  • Develop new user-facing mobile/desktop responsive landing pages, websites and application features
  • Build custom templates for WordPress, utilizing advanced custom fields.
  • Code interactive web forms that utilize conditional logic for clean, easy use with a focus on lead conversion
  • Build reusable code and libraries for future use and fast deployments
  • Optimize web page components for maximum speed, scalability and (most importantly) conversion
  • Collaborate with clients, other team members and stakeholders
  • Ability to wireframe web pages in an objective manner
  • Administration of all client websites with ongoing changes and updates
  • Manage and collaborate with outsourced developers to manage website project builds
  • Proficient in accessibility implementation using WGAC 2.0 and Section 508 standard


Education and Experience

  • 2-4 year college degree or equivalent. 2-5 web development experience


Job Skills Required

  • Excellent organizational skills and detail oriented
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, ability to develop positive, professional relationships with a diverse group of employees
  • Proficient understanding of application code and web markup, including PHP, HTML5, CSS3
  • Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery
  • Knowledge of Photoshop, to pull assets such as images and patterns, resize and optimize image for page performance
  • Basic knowledge of web based video for large video backgrounds
  • Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them
  • Good understanding of SEM/SEO principles and ensuring that application will adhere to them
  • Knowledge of Hosting, SQL Database, domain and DNS
  • Good knowledge of UX and understanding of internet marketing
  • Understanding of agile methodologies and growth driven design is a plus
  • Relevant courses/training/experience in project management a plus

System Skills Required

  • Application code and web markup, including PHP, HTML5, CSS3
  • Experience with Photoshop and other creative suite applications
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with content management systems (e.g. WordPress)


  • Travel as required by Account Service Supervisor or Manager
